Printmaking is taught through the ancient
art of wood carved painting. Developed over thousands of
years this has now become a very precise and delicate art
form. The students study the history of the art as well
as gaining skills in the visual language of contemporary
practice.
The main study consists of learning
the characteristics of the practice, developing students
own skills on the back of the history of the art form. Students
learn the knife skills required and the methods of printing.
