With the reputation of the University slowly growing the Art department is also enjoying much success. This month the Gold China Communication Service limited company is arriving to appoint a graduate students to its staff.

The vice director of the educational administration of Art Colleges in Guangzhou, one of our alumni has recently returned to speak to our students. He has been awarded the appointment as chief professor of painting in the province. This has given current students much encouragement.

On March the 3rd this year the students held an activity named “learn the thunder.” Students set out stalls on the main walk way in the University to encourage other students to experiment with sketch, and colour and at the same time offered portraits to classmates on demand.

Last year in a national competition for all graphic design students named "Beijing 2008 Olympic Posters" art student Xu Shiming won third prize, and another made the top 300. The third prize student work can be seen in the graphic design gallery. They will collect their prizes in Shanghai this April.
