Zhaoqing University opened the first art education department
in the province in 1979. This went through many changes
over the years including a merge with the West River University
in the year 2000. The first undergraduate courses started
in the same year and design courses were introduced into
the curriculum. Since then the department has grown from
strength to strength and now recruits students from five
provinces.
Situated in one of Guangdong’s most scenic areas the
department enjoys the benefits of the seven star crags and
Dinghu mountain for sketching and photography practice.
This makes an excellent base for students wishing to experiment
in landscapes.
The department now has 514 students, 419 of them studying
on the undergraduate course. The department recognizes that
art can make a significant contribution to business in the
area and keeps its eye firmly on the vocational opportunities
for its students.
To find more information on how to apply to
study on the course as an overseas student we suggest going
to the English pages of the University website. This will
put you in direct contact with the foreign affairs department
who can inform you of fees and process of application.
